Our client provides engineering services across Australia and oversees. Our client is highly focused on a collaborative, team approach, with staff enjoying great tenure. A great opportunity has come up for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to step-in and take on a challenging and complex payroll position.
Description
Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for:
- End-to-end Payroll for over 500 staff based locally and internationally
- Processing fortnightly & monthly pays
- Interpretation of contracts and calculations of overtime payments
- All tax and compliance functions
- Reporting and various EOM/EOY responsibilities
- The set up and implementation of new agreements/awards in payroll system
- Handling staff enquiries
- Conducting other process-improvement initiatives and drive projects to see the Payroll function work more efficiently
- Setting up new starters and processing terminations
- Other HR duties as pertaining to the payroll function
Profile
Our ideal candidate has the following skill-set and experience:
- Ideally 5 - 7 years experience in payroll from mining, mining services, O&G, engineering or other project-based sectors (timesheet focus)
- Can demonstrate success in a challenging sole-charge capacity processing manual timesheet entry
- Can demonstrate success in application and interpretation of multiple awards and agreements to process pays
- Honed communication style - can pivot between conversing with senior management and site-based staff with ease
- Ideally offers previous success in process improvement and implementation projects, driving change and creating a more efficient, accurate and streamlined function
- Someone with a ‘high-achiever’ approach to their work - committed, takes pride, strong time-management, reliable, diligent and loves to power through the work
