Client:

My client is a leading Tier One Agency working in the commercial space. They have a fantastic opportunity for an initial 3 month contract for an experienced Portfolio Accountant to head up the Accounting team. This is a dual facing role which requires equal Property Management skills as well as ability to communicate with Fund Managers.

The ideal candidate will come from a Commercial Property background and have strong Trust Accounting experience, as well as managing budgeting and forecasting processes. This is an ASAP start for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Dual facing role (Property Accounting): Comply with all relevant Trust Accounting and Property Accounting policies and procedures inclusive of any client specific policies. Property management responsibilities with property manager.
• Assist Accounts Receivable in allocation of EFT rental payments from tenants
• Process Client remittances per PM and Client instructions or as required
• Review Monthly OPEX and CAPEX payment runs
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and outgoings recovery
• Reconcile GST Reports to general ledger
• Liaise with Property Manager on financial reporting matters
• Ensure completion of Month End Financial Reporting Checklist for all properties and sub-trusts
• Provide NOI, Consolidation and NAV reporting
• Assist property managers in the preparation and presentation of outgoing reconciliations
• Prepare quarterly lender reporting
• Participate in transitions and disposals for all properties associated with your client
• Reviewing leases against charges raised
• Prepare Capped Occupancy Reconciliations
• Payroll responsibilities including leave reporting
• Managing P&L

Key Skills:

• Relevant Accounting qualifications
• CPA/ CA Qualified
• Retail property accounting experience essential.
• Experience in management position
• Strong excel and presentation skills
• Strong ability to analyse, resolve issues and make effective recommendations
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent people skills
