Permanent, full-time opportunity 

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for providing leadership and coordination of a large finance team, ensuring the team provides proactive and client focused services enabling improved financial management across the business.

In this position you will be enabled and encouraged to think and perform things differently. You will manage the fiscal reporting activities for the organisation, including:

  • Leading and mentoring a high performance team of 35 FTEs;
  • Preparing accurate monthly reports for the organisation on operational performance, including the preparation, analysis and monitoring of the annual budget;
  • Driving piercing insights through divisional financial reporting;
  • Audit and Statutory reporting requirements;
  • Spearheading the finance transformation through project work including system implementations. 

About you

You are a dynamic, "hands on" and confident leader who thrives on making a difference. Your analytical nature and high degree of professionalism and initiative will be imperative to succeed. It is also important that you are a highly organised, efficient person with the ability to listen to the needs of both management and staff. In addition you possess solid experience leading and managing a diverse range of accounting functions in a multi-cost centre environment.

Your demonstrated competence in setting and delivering business targets by owning the annual planning and forecasting process in diverse businesses with revenues in excess of $250m will set you apart in being successful for this role.

Your qualifications and experience should also include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting and must hold either CPA or CA qualification;
  • Five years minimum of broad finance/business, including technical accounting, management accounting, financial control, operations and a diverse business exposure;
  • Solid experience obtaining comprehensive knowledge of all relevant fields (FBT, GST, AASB and Internal System Controls);
  • A collaborative and flexible working style, always striving for organisational excellence;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including willingness to present reports to Directors/Management Team in a logical and concise manner;
  • Proven experience in implementing new processes and systems to ensure the efficient processing of all accounting transactions;
