Mirage Country Club is located in Port Douglas, approximately 1-hour drive from Cairns. The 18 hole golf course was designed by 5 times British Open winner Peter Thomson together with renowned architect Michael Wolveridge, and it is iconic to Port Douglas and Australia golf.

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join the team, available to start IMMEDIATELY. 

The role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is an exciting role and will provide the incumbent with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the business, whilst at the same time providing a strongly defined career path.

Responsibilities will include:

• ​Assist Finance Manager to prepare month end closing and financial reporting by the due date, including Monthly, annually financial reports, ensure accuracy and compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
• Practice effective balance sheet management and ensure balance reconciliation are completed and cleaned on monthly basis
• Prepare PAYG, GST and tax related reports for Finance Manager review and submission
• Assist in cash flow management, budgeting and analysis
• Liaise with suppliers and other external stakeholders, follow up any outstanding expenses from the customers. 
• Liaise with onsite team, verify invoicing details and assisting with debt collections
• Compile information for internal and external auditors as required 
• Investigate variances and submit variance reports to management 
• Maintaining and updating assets register

Your profile

The ideal candidate required to have proven track record of responsibility, integrity, and commitment to report deadline, with serious focus on providing quality, accurate financial information. You need to have minimum 2 years' experiences in Accounting and Strong technical skills, including Advance Level of MS Excel spreadsheet skill, and diversified experiences in accounting system of ACCPAC, MYOB.

This role requires a practical individual who is able to work well within a small team, whilst also being able to work autonomously.  You will also need to be analytical, passionate, professional and a great communicator. Accounting firm experience is preferred.
