Overview of company and position
Oriental Merchant is an established importer and distributor of authentic Asian groceries, supplying the major supermarkets and numerous independent stores with brands familiar throughout the Asia Pacific region.
As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will play an integral role within the team and report to the Finance Manager.
The role will be suitable for individuals with an analytical and inquisitive mind, with strong accounting and finance capabilities. The role requires an individual to have accounting experience within China to ensure performance and global growth framework comprehension.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
The role is one with the exceptional opportunity to face challenges precluding to the following:
- Executing and delivering financial and management reports internally in Chinese and English
- Provide business services compliance and advisory work
- Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Ability to Ad-hoc regular tasks in the finance team
- As well as undertaking a wide range of Audit work
Key Requirements
Along with the core duties and responsibilities of the role there are skills that are required for the position:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an all-round accounting role
- Ideal candidate will have had accounting experience in China
- Degree qualified within the accounting or finance fields
- Confident in communicating in both English and Mandarin; written and verbal
- Communicate and collaborate effectively within the group of companies and have strong attention to detail
