A leading FMCG company based in Melbourne's Inner Suburbs is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Manager to join their leading organisation as a GM of Payroll Services.As GM of payroll services you will be responsible for the delivery of accurate and timely payroll processing for all the organisations entities. While reporting into the Finance director, your day to day will include the management and administration of the organisations Services In-house Payroll functions and team, providing support to the HR and Finance teams on internal payroll queries, reporting and reconciliation, the provision of advice and continuous improvements on payroll practices and a commitment to produce high quality work with premium customer service to a geographically dispersed workforce.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the supervision of accurate and timely processing of pays and payroll functions for 4,000 employees
- Carrying out checks, reviews, and auditing of payroll data and outcomes to ensure accurate pay processing for all staff
- Effectively lead, manage and develop a diverse team of 5-7 payroll officers in accordance with the organisations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring and training employees
- Responding to internal stakeholders' payroll queries with a high level of customer focus
- Ensure that reconciliations and reporting of payroll information for Finance reports are consistent and correct
- Calculation and payments of Superannuation, PAYG, termination and redundancies, Month end and annual reporting
- Preparation and lodgement of workers compensation and garnishees
- Mentor and develop payroll staff on an ongoing basis
- Work with external auditing firm for compliance purposes
- Leading and taking part in various payroll / finance related projects
- Completion of accurate payroll reporting
- Maintain and ensure that both Payroll, Finance and HR teams are informed of any updates on changes in legislation or requirements that will impact payroll for all regions
- Assist with the management of Payroll budget and forecasting
- A minimum of 6+ years’ experience in a Payroll Manager position within a large complex organisation
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting or business is essential
- People Management Experience essential, Team of 6
- Knowledge of payroll processing, both in-house and bureau
- Experience in an environment with multiple complex Awards/Agreements
- Payroll Systems/System Implementation experience, SAP preferred
- Knowledge of financial and audit requirements (specifically in their application to payroll)
