Our client provides high quality, innovative scientific consumables and equipment in Australia and is seeking an Accountant/Bookkeeper who will be responsible for the day to day running of the Company Accounts.
Working in a fun and friendly office, you will have a strong attention to detail and the willingness to take on new challenges as they arise. We are looking for a candidate who is motivated, personable and looking for a long term position.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Prepare monthly financial statements and other business reports required by the business including comparative/variance reports between actual, budgeted and previous performance results.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements & spreadsheets as required by management for the company and related entities.
- Complete Payroll using Attaché.
- Prepare the necessary reports and information required to ensure the company and related entities comply with relevant tax & statutory reporting requirement.
- Ensure accounting applications meet the business requirements.
- Ensure appropriate internal controls are devised and implemented.
- Prepare the annual budget in conjunction with the various business areas.
- Maintain daily cash flow and projections and report as required.
- Provide regular financial and strategic analysis to the directors.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure compliance to all financial requirements such as GST, BAS and FBT, income tax, wages, superannuation, payroll tax and Workcover.
- Reconciliation and reporting of actual versus budgeted financial numbers.
You must have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and a minimum of three years relevant work experience or over 10 years as a Bookkeeper.
- A knowledge of relevant Australian Accounting Standards.
- Payroll experience (Attaché an advantage).
- A knowledge of Australian Taxation Legislation, particularly in relation to GST, FBT, Income and Payroll Tax.
- A minimum of intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel including spreadsheet creation and the use of formulas and functions.
