Your New Role

We are now looking for a dynamic, energetic, financial whizz to join our team as Accountant to help our team to the next level.          

Based in our headquarters in Murarrie and reporting to the Group General Manager, you will be working directly with the Finance and Administration Managers to support the business to achieve its financial requirements.  

As Accountant, you will work closely with the Accounts team and other areas of the business to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is recorded and maintained in our accounting systems, together with being able to undertake or possess the following:

• month-end accounting, including depreciation;
• balance sheet, P&L and Budget versus Actual analysis;
• process AP and GJ transactions/GJ reconciliation, with full understanding of AP/AR processes;
• preparation of BAS;   
• FBT calculations;
• budget preparation;
• comprehensive understanding of Australian taxation laws and legislation;
• company payroll management experience and solid understanding of Payroll Tax obligations and application;
• monthly and year-end reporting to the Board;
• cash flow forecasting and management in all businesses;
• initiating commission payments;
• bank and credit card transaction reconciliation;
• ensure supplier contract compliance;
• intercompany transactions;
• bank authorisation responsibilities;
• sales reporting and trend analysis;
• asset management; and,
• negotiate public liability and other insurances.

You!

You will have experience working in an organisation with approximately $30 - $50 million turnover, at least five years’ experience in an accounting role, with CA/CPA qualifications and advanced MYOB and Excel skills; experience in a multi-entity organisation is a definite plus!

You are someone who wants to develop their career as our organisation grows, and who has an eagerness to learn and adapt quickly to change; you want to participate with senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.

If you are someone who has supervised a team before or has experience in mentoring colleagues or direct reports, and wants to take things to the next step soon, then we’d love to hear from you.

You can think outside the box – we want someone who isn’t afraid to suggest something new; you have the ability to change and improve process and procedures to create efficiencies in the finance function and the broader business!

Organised and logical, accuracy and attention to detail are a passion for you, and you can remain calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.

As the successful candidate, you will also enjoy talking to people – we need someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and who thrives on working as part of a team and with a variety of stakeholders.
