The Firm
The firm is a national association of full service accounting, audit and advisory. They have a strong reputation for providing quality advice to a range of privately owned corporate and public organisations with a particular focus on the middle market. The firm has offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide.
The Role
Reporting to the Audit Manager, you will be required to work independently and as part of a team, on a commercially focused client base. You will have a strong drive for career progression, and focus on the audits of large private and listed companies.
The role will also involve:
- Planning audit engagements
- Supervising junior audit staff
- Special purpose audits
- Assisting the corporate finance team with assignments
- Preparation of job budgets for audit engagements
- Reviewing /preparing statutory financial statements prepared under IFRS and relevant regulations
- Preparing the audit opinion over the financial statements under relevant regulations
Skills & Experience
The following requirements are necessary in order to be considered:
- 3+ years’ external audit experience
- Completed or on final subject of CA/CPA qualification
- Established assurance/audit skills and an understanding of audit techniques and methods
- Demonstrated commercial and client focus
- An understanding of IFRS or Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), Australian Auditing Standards (ASA) and relevant legislation applicable to assurance engagements
- Ability to supervise and coach junior audit staff
