Business Controller

This role will have matrix reporting, directly to the Business Unit Head and to the  CFO. It is hands-on as it will be the local Finance Leader to scope and implement compliance, statutory, financial reporting and management reporting requirements for the company. Key areas of responsibilities include:

• Ownership of all financial accounting, balance sheet & income statement preparation and various other financial reports.
• Month end close ensuring all balance sheet items are reconciled and P&L items are reviewed, along with investigation of variances.
• Responsibility for annual statutory audit process in liaison with external auditors and internal stake holders.
• Partner with the business and manage the ongoing management reporting and ensure that targets and goals for Australia is achieved.
• Support the Business Unit Managers by providing detailed analysis and reporting on key KPIs on regular basis or as requested. Review performance  against existing budget.
• Effectively manage and drive team to ensure maximum efficiency on all Working capital items i.e. Accounts Receivable, WIP, Inventory, and Accounts Payable. Meeting or exceeding all targets as stated.
• Actively involved in ongoing Integration Projects and Process Improvements
• Actively involved in other commercial projects

To be considered for this role, you will have the following experience:

• CA/CPA Qualified
• Min 5 years experience on broad range of accounting with a strong technical background
• Min 3 years staff management experience in a SME
• Demonstrated  Financial Leadership, excellent work ethic and high integrity
• Excellent Financial analysis, consultation and communication
• Comfortable in matrix reporting and working with teams
• Effective communication and building relationships
• Efficient problem solving
• Assertive with a positive attitude
• Ability to drive efficiencies and process improvements
• Friendly, approachable and professional
