Reporting to the Directors, this position is ultimately responsible for;
- Efficiently managing and planning the workflow of a team of accountants and bookkeepers,
- Managing and reviewing the quality of work being produced by the team ensuring it is accurate, compliant and delivered within agreed timeframes,
- Providing leadership, training and mentoring around performance to enable the team to achieve goals and targets in a sustainable way,
- Reporting on team workflow, KPI performance and progress towards targets,
- Problem-solving, prioritising, time and workflow management,
- Proactively driving and communicating change, developing and implementing system and process improvement,
- Keeping abreast of technological advancement through research to assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
- An inquisitive mind and proven ability to deliver change and contribute to a continuous improvement culture in a multidisciplinary organisation,
- Proven ability to lead effectively in a dynamic team environment,
- The ability to build rapport, mentor and train team members,
- High emotional intelligence and the soft-skills required to successfully lead and influence others, and model expected behaviours,
- Uncompromising professionalism, unshakable ethics and sound judgement,
- Excellent technical skills and legislative knowledge
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines,
- A growth mindset, resilience and perseverance to follow things through to the end,
- Effective and well developed written and oral communication skills,
- IT savviness with a genuine interest in Xero,
- Experience implementing change through a practice management system (Xero Practice Manager would be a bonus),
- CA/CPA qualifications.
