The Assistant Project Accountant is responsible for providing support to the project finance team on assigned projects and departments within the CCSM program.  This includes the preparation of the monthly financial performance reports for projects and direct department packs.

This is a junior position within the finance team and is required to support the team in delivering high quality program and management accountant services within ASC’s operating model.  Working collaboratively to achieve common goals and contribute towards continual improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely and accurate journals, reconciliations and month end reports for CCSM projects and departments.
  • Analyse monthly costs reporting to ensure compliance with the CCSM contracting framework.
  • Provide timely support to the annual ISSC True Up and Performance Period 3 reporting requirements.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and analysis as required by CCSM Financial Controller, ASC West Finance Manager, Senior Project Accountants or stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess the following

  • Working knowledge of financial business information systems.
  • Degree qualified or studying towards a Bachelor of Commerce or Accounting.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent Analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • Willingness to learn and drive for continuous improvement
  • Strong teamwork Attributes
