Finance Officer, Newcastle.
We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join our Finance Shared Services (FSS) team in our Newcastle office on a permanent full time basis. This is an exciting and “hands on” opportunity to assist a busy finance department and work with a team of experienced accounts specialists.
 
This role is a dual AP/AR role reporting into the Transactional Services Manager, with a focus on Accounts Payable supplier/employee payment processing & assets as well as client invoicing and receipting. The role will appeal to those with strong communication and customer service skills and a high level of self-motivation, energy and drive.
 
Primary functions:
 
To perform proactive support to the FSS Managers/Team Leaders, performing finance tasks as required. To ensure the quality of work performed and deadlines are met in an accurate, timely and cost effective manner in adherence to GHD applicable limits of authority.
 
Core tasks may include:
  • Asset registration/disposal and reconciliation
  • Client invoicing
  • Receipting
  • Submitting supplier invoices for approval
  • Supplier invoice processing
  • Supplier/employee payment processing
  • Ensure compliance with all GHD finance policies and procedures
  • Provide continuous feedback to the Manager/Team Leader, including positive confirmations on matters relating to compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure a co-operative and open knowledge sharing relationship is developed and maintained with other operating centres
  • Assist the FSS team on other tasks or projects as required
To be considered for this position you should possess: 
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar position
  • Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise workload
  • First class communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience working within a large/complex organisation
  • Initiative and problem solving ability
  • Professional approach and attitude
  • Good time management skills
  • Keen eye for detail and accuracy
