The Client
Premier ASX-listed insurance organisation who are a household brand, are looking for a Group Accountant to work within their financial reporting team delivering accurate financial statements and disclosures along with other reporting documentation. This is a rare opportunity to join a world renowned market leader who promote diversity in the workplace.
The Role
The key purposes of the role include:
- Process and procedure documentation and improvement
- Preparation of accounting journals and accounting papers to support the group consolidation process
- Ensuring accuracy and and transparency in all reporting and results
- Full ownership of elements of the group result
- Engaging with senior stakeholders and offering advice on improving performance
- Compliance with regulatory requirements, legislation and company policy
- Ensure strong working relationships with other teams, peers and divisions
- Ensuring you are up to date with accounting standards
The Candidate
The successful applicant to this position will be a results focus, team player with a clear direction that they would like to see their career take. You will have/be:
- CA/CPA qualified with 3 years post qualification experience
- Experience of financial accounting and reporting at a group level
- Experience in the insurance space is highly favourable
- Hands on approach to achieving outcomes
- Ability to produce top level outcomes under deadline pressure
- Solid understanding of financial reporting requirements/standards, and ASX listing rules and reporting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
