About the role
Our company is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to assist in managing our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. Confidentiality, excellent organisational skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.
Bookkeeper Job Duties:
- Recording financial transactions
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Processing and Paying bills for the company
- Maintaining company ledgers
- Distributing transactions appropriately to various departments within the company
- Preparing purchase orders in accordance with requests for purchases
- Match purchase orders with invoices
- Scanning and Filing historical records and retrieving necessary documents as needed for others
- Data entry & reconciliations
- Assisting with preparing information for auditors
- Additional bookkeeping duties as designated by management
- Continues streamlining of processes and procedures
Other Duties:
- Maintaining office supplies and ordering new supplies as needed
- Providing administrative and clerical support as needed
- Collecting mail
- General maintenance and upkeep of the office

Skills and experience
Essential:
- Previous experience working in accounts payable and receivable, general ledger and trial balance
- Proven capability to meet set deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a team environment
- Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation
- Possess strong interpersonal communication and liaising skills
- Possess strong record keeping skills
- Be supportive and flexible to change
- Have a relaxed can-do & solutions based attitude
- Have a passion for working with figures and meticulous data entry.
Desirable:
- Certificate in Bookkeeping
- Previous Reckon Software experience
- Previous Attaché Software experience
