The Role
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Clerk to work part time on a 9 month contract, with the opportunity for renewal. This contract is for an immediate start, preferably early July. The role will be part time (3-4 days/week). Working in a professional and experienced team and reporting directly to the Financial Controller, your duties will include:
- Monthly payroll for 120+ employees;
- Other ad hoc pay-runs;
- Reconcile leave entitlements;
- New employee setup, promotions and terminations;
- Respond to payroll queries in a timely manner;
- Maintain payroll records in accordance with statutory requirements;
- Administering payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG, Single Touch Payroll and payroll deduction payments;
- Preparation of end of financial year payroll, including issuing payment summaries;
- Assist in implementing payroll policies and procedures; and
- Other ad hoc payroll duties.
The ideal candidate will possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills, demonstrates initiative and is able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Skills, qualification and experience
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting or commerce;
- Experience using MYOB suite;
- Experience in MYOB Advanced preferred but not essential;
- Experience as a payroll clerk;
- Current knowledge of employment legislation and processes including superannuation, WorkCover and Paid Parental Leave;
- Confidentiality; and
- Strong work ethic.
