About the role:

An opportunity to work at a senior level of a large government organisation has come up as a Statutory Reporting Accountant. This position focuses on statutory reporting and fixed assets and sits within a passionate and forward-thinking team. 

Although statutory reporting experience would be beneficial, newly CA/CPA Qualified applicants will also be considered.  

Key responsibilities:

• Contribute to the preparation of statutory financial reports including the preparation of accurate and timely financial information, analysis and notes, responding to external financial reporting requests, liaising with Senior Management to ensure the reporting timetable is adhered to and reports are compliant with the accounting standards and legislative requirements.
• Develop and review accounting procedures and processes as relevant to the positions portfolio, as well as providing expert advice and services in relation to these.
• Monitor that the finance and accounting functions undertaken by other branches are accurate, timely and appropriate.  Raise issues and assist with problem resolution and continuous improvement.
• Draft notes disclosures to financial statements where requested or required.
• Prepare timely, complete and accurate external and statutory periodic reports that meet all accounting standards and legislative requirements

Key requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in a role relevant to statutory or financial accounting.
• Exposure to depreciation, capitalization and fixed asset modules
• Strong analysis, audit and problem-solving skills
• CA or CPA Qualification (Part-Qualified applications will not be considered)
