Due to our success, market demand and fast growing business, we are looking for an Accountant who will be employed on a 6-month contract with a view to becoming a permanent Accountant. 

This position is based at our state-of-the-art office in the heart of Melbourne CBD.

Position:

  • You will report to Financial Controller and Senior Project Accountant
  • You will manage all accounts, including liaising with customers and suppliers on a regular basis
  • You will be guided and mentored
  • This role will test your ability to multi-task and show real initiative

Duties include (but not limited to): 

  • Preparation of Monthly accounts for a consolidated group
  • Performing all the adjustments and consolidation entries required
  • Supervising 2 Junior accountants
  • Lodgement of all GST, FBT, Payroll Tax and Income tax returns
  • Managing accounts for Investments properties
  • Managing all ASIC lodgement and keep companies up to date with ASIC
  • Month-end close process
  • Preparing cash flow, Budgets and Forecasts for the business
  • Liaising with auditors and provide required information on a timely manner
  • Maintaining Fixed Assets Ledger

You will have:

  • MYOB and Xero experience 
  • The ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience in ASX listing will be regarded very highly, but isn't mandatory
  • Prior experience in business services (Tax compliance or Audit) at least 2 years
  • Current enrolment in CPA
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Technical skills and ability to analyse data and provide detailed reports on outcome
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Ability to operate within tight deadlines
