Job Description

 

Monthly reporting

Ensuring that project accounting is accurate by managing (including client and product):

  • the set-up of projects including budgets
  • accuracy in the posting of costs to projects
  • accuracy of projects budgets for ongoing studies
  • calculation of monthly revenues for projects
  • Producing monthly reporting to assist management in the running of their unit
  • Managing the mid-month forecasting of revenue by unit
  • Managing staff utilization and monthly staff costs
  • Consolidation of operating results into meaningful management reporting

Budgeting and forecasting

  • With the support of the Commercial Manager drive the budgeting and reforecasting process required for each business unit
  • Assisting the Commercial Manager in the calculation and revision of cost rates for staff in Australia & New Zealand and ensuring this information is reflected in the accounting system
  • Maintain ongoing assessment of business risks and opportunities

Strategic and commercial insight

  • Partner with the customer facing teams to maximize commercial outcomes
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal clients
  • Maintain & develop the companies ‘Business Information System’, ensuring it meets the every changing needs of the Company and its individual units, in collaboration with the Finance Director.
  • Assist the Commercial Manager in providing direction, communication & training to the Senior Leaders of the ANZ business, in order for them to fully understand the financial implications of their strategic and commercial decisions

Compliance administration

  • Assisting with annual external audits, internal audits and Sarbanes Oxley compliance, with a particular focus on the control of Revenue Recognition and the processes relating to onboarding and managing client relationships
  • Ongoing development and management of control processes and procedures
  • Ensure that the business has effectively assessed new clients and new suppliers prior to commencing trade

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Management Accounting in a service orientated company
  • A degree in commerce or business specialising in accounting and preferably a member of the ICAA or CPA Australia or an equivalent professional accounting body.
