Accountant
Job responsibilities:
- Manage full set accounting and reporting functions including various accounting/ treasury/ position reports and group reporting packages. Ensure that reporting deadlines are met.
- Establish appropriate accounting policies and ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards, internal control procedures and group policies.
- Consolidate divisional financial results.
- Manage cash flows, foreign currency exposure, approve local payments and prepare overseas payments.
- Maintain fixed asset register.
- Prepare submission to tax authorities, e.g. monthly business activity statement, annual withholding tax return.
- Monthly reconciliation of intercompany balances/ transactions.
- Review works performed by tax agent/ external accountant, e.g. annual income tax return, annual fringe benefit tax return, transfer pricing local file, general purpose financial statements.
- Liaise with banks, external auditors, insurance brokers, and solicitors.
- Cross-border tax planning.
- Perform financial analysis for management decision making.
- Perform stock take and oversee periodical reconciliation of warehouse records.
- Coordinate product non-conformance matters with customers/ factories/ warehouses/ administration team/ insurance.
- Manage product related audits, e.g. Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, Woolworths’ Supplier Excellence Program, RSPO Credit.
- Prepare other operational reports, e.g. direct marketing commission reports, wholesale program reports.
- Perform as a backup to the HR/ Administration Manager.
- Ad-hoc reporting & projects.
Job Requirements:
- CPA or equivalent and a good accounting degree.
- At least 3 to 5 years of accounting experience
- Preferably with experience working in Big 4 audit firms.
- Conversant in accounting e.g. IFRS and company law.
- Has an eye for detail and ability to work in a high pressure environment.
- Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to travel on short term basis as and when required
