The role

In this role, you will manage a team in the end-to-end processing of Goods Not For Resale Invoices (GNFR) for all Coles Brands including overseeing the payments process for all Brands undertaken by an offshore team.

Your responsibility will also include managing external service providers against contractual KPIs. In addition you will be responsible for driving process improvement across the Accounts Payable function for our Goods Not For Resale processes

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • a tertiary Qualification in Finance related discipline
  • a CA or CPA Qualification, preferred
  • advanced computer literacy and MS Office skills with proficiency in the use of SAP
  • proven  experience in an Accounts Payable leadership role, preferably within a retail environment
  • sound Accounts Payable, merchandise and operations knowledge
  • the ability to manage, influence, challenge, negotiate with third party providers and internal stakeholders
  • the ability to display tolerance, decisiveness, flexibility and the drive to continuously improve the control environment
  • strong interpersonal skills to manage key stakeholders and customers from both within and outside of the Coles Finance Team
  • the ability to manage on-shore and off-shore teams and engage with team members at all levels
  • proven ability to influence, challenge and negotiate outcomes with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers
  • the ability to drive process improvement and provide insight to internal stakeholders for onshore and offshore service provider performance 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • take account for the deliverables and performance  of 5  team members, with additional responsibility for the support of 14 team members offshore
  • manage processing relationship for Utility Energy Services and Store Expense Service providers. Ensuring month end accruals and variance reporting is completed
  • manage the processing and issue resolution for Supply Chain Financing including having a close working relationship with the Service Provider
  • undertake cash flow reporting and analysis across GFR and GNFR suppliers
  • review and approval of period end reporting and accruals by offshore team
  • build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, specifically internal to Coles, suppliers and onshore and offshore vendors
  • initiate and develop process improvements across the GNFR Payables team
  • manage and implement recommendations from the team around process improvement, including resolving major or consistent problems
  • resolve issues in a timely and effective manner, including escalation where appropriate
  • provide leadership and role model the ‘one team’ culture across the Payables team including on shore and offshore teams
