Our client is a diversified and high growth focussed professional services firm that is dynamic and entrepreneurial in their approach.  Their history is impressive, even more is their want to continually foster a culture of a boutique firm with the scale and scope of a mid-sized player in their chosen disciplines.  This role combines some tactical aspects in running the financials of the organisation, but critically partnering with the Directors on all things operational and strategic.
  
You will be

• Leading the firm’s finance function and processes of a growing firm – encompassing everything from time and expense entry and the resulting reporting.
• Advising the Directors on the performance of the business and guiding them commercially on their growth trajectory. Board reporting and commentary, being an active contributor and partner with insights and variances.
• Working closely with Director on projects and the implementation of strategies.
• Managing key external relationships with auditors, accountants, outsourced payroll providers, bookkeepers, insurers and bankers.
• Overviewing billing & client data, reviewing invoice payments and the improvement of systems and processes.
• Ensuring trust account compliance and all other governance requirements.
• Mentoring & supervising administrative staff in the financial and client accounting aspects of their positions.
• Improving the effectiveness of internal and external resources to ensure best practice.

Critically, you will have extensive experience at the Financial Controller level within the professional services environment, ideally an Legal or Accounting practice of scale.  CA/CPA/IPA qualifications essential, as is an exceptionally commercial and persuasive communication style in driving business improvements and outcomes.  This is an opportunity where you can take real ownership of the role and work broadly across the firm in optimising the corporate support function.
