Our Client
This prestigious second tier firm have over 40 staff in their Sydney office and provide their employees with a friendly and social work environment with plenty of opportunity for career progression. Their broad client base includes High Net Worth individuals to ASX listed entities with multi-million dollar turnovers. Their growing Business Services division includes 5 partners and means that all staff enjoy a clear career path to Management. They currently require an experienced senior accountant to join their team.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for companies, partnerships, trusts & SMSF’s
- Assist team to manage workflow and ensure jobs are delivered on budget and within agreed timeframes
- Take ownership of assigned work and follow through with Partners and Managers to ensure high quality outcomes for clients
- Be proactive in identifying and discussing solutions to problems
- Assist in and take the lead in advisory projects
- Delegate work to junior staff. Review completed work, providing timely feedback to staff members to assist with their development
- Provide on the job training to members of the team and/or firm
- Identify roadblocks or impediments to achieving desired business outcomes and provide feedback to Managers
- Identify with tax issues in FBT, CGT & Div7a
- Liaise with various statutory authorities on behalf of clients including ATO and ASIC
- Assist team with tax planning research and analysis of tax obligations
- Identify opportunities to add value to existing clients and contribute to client interaction
In additional to correspondence to clients and other ad-hoc tasks as assigned from time to time

The successful candidate will have:
- At least 4 years of experience in local Australian Chartered Accounting Practice
- Degree qualified in Accounting
- CA qualified or near completion.
- Ability provide exceptional service as well as manage multiple tasks and work towards deadlines
- Experience working on large entities with over $3M t/o
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Proactive attitude, self-motivated and enthusiastic
