Due to an internal transfer we are looking for an experienced finance and auditing/compliance professional to join our Wollongong team as a Senior Finance Analyst.

Working in our Australian Steel Markets (ASM) Business Unit, you will undertake commercial support for sales and marketing and work within a professional and supportive finance team.

The Role
Reporting to the Sales Reporting & Governance Manager, this position will provide reporting, analytical, forecasting and governance services to the business unit lead teams and finance team. Importantly it ensures these teams have access to timely and accurate financial analysis and reporting for enhanced decision making.

Key Responsibilities

• Monthly accounting activities such as reporting and analysis of actuals, budgets and outlooks
• Forecast/budget deliverables in accordance with required timeframes
• Provide robust financial/analytical services to support interpretation of business outcomes
• Execute financial evaluation modelling to support business projects and initiatives
• Undertake presentations to key stakeholders including lead teams and General Manager
• Provide financial governance and stewardship to the business and meet company and statutory commercial requirements
• Ensure compliance with BSL governance framework and assist with implementing standards and processes to support the framework
• Lead the Business Unit risk review process for input into the broader business review
• Coordinate the half yearly preparation of Directors Questionnaire and Risk Management letter for the Business Unit
• Organise the closeout of Internal/External audit actions

The Person
No steel industry experience is required. Your finance and auditing/compliance experience combined with your sound commercial acumen will enable you to learn our business environment, supported by your manager and team.

You have an engaging work approach and are comfortable liaising with different levels and teams within the business. This enables you to develop relationships and influence others to achieve the desired outcomes within set deadlines.

Key Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
• CPA / CA qualified (or currently undertaking)
• Demonstrated success in standardising and embedding business processes
• Well-developed communication and presentation skills
• Good Excel knowledge and skills (i.e. Pivot Tables, V Look-Ups, analysing large data sets)
• Competent computer skills to learn our systems (e.g. SAP, Cognos, TM1)

Ideally you will have exposure to undertaking auditing and/or compliance responsibilities in either an internal or consulting capacity.
