We are currently seeking a highly motivated Assistant Accountant who has a good understanding of accounting principles and strong analytical abilities. The position will be based at our Northern Adelaide, Burton office, located approximately 35 minutes from the CBD. This role will be responsible for providing accounting support and to aid in the provision of timely and accurate financial information to company management. The position reports to the Financial Controller based in Burton.
Responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to;
- Preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of financial journals, accruals and prepayments;
- Preparation of the monthly Goods Received Not Invoiced reconciliation;
- Cash administration duties (such as processing bank transactions, reconciling bank accounts and processing travel cash requests etc);
- Management reporting duties;
- Management of the travel expense system;
- Audit file preparation.
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting (University, TAFE or equivalent);
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role;
- Strong understanding of accounting principles;
- Analytical, time management , MS Office and communication skills;
- A current driver’s licence;
- A good understanding of integrated ERP systems and a desire to gain Post Graduate qualifications (CA or CPA) will be highly regarded.
