Background

Myriota is a satellite communications company specialising in ultra low cost remote Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity. Recognised as a global leader in satellite IoT, Myriota recently closed a $20m Series A funding round with investors including Boeing HorizonX Ventures, Singtel Innov8 and Main Sequence Ventures. The company is entering an exciting phase of rapid global growth and expects to triple in size in the coming months.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to manage a small high growth company that uses a combination of internal and external resources to maintain Myriota’s financial information and operations. 

The Financial Controller’s main duty is to oversee company financial management, undertaking tasks such as company accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Responsibilities will also include strategic analysis and financial risk management.

To be successful in this role, you should be strategic, diligent and accountable. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Financial Controller for a company of 20-100 employees and is familiar with a high growth technology company environment.

This position is based in Adelaide, South Australia.

Responsibilities 

  • Accounting - including management of all company accounting tasks, completing most in-house and overseeing external bookkeeping and accounting suppliers as necessary 

  • Transactions - including accounts, payroll, reimbursements, and bank account management 

  • Financial Planning and Analysis - including analysis, modelling, providing strategic recommendations and reporting (eg grant applications, project proposals), prepare company for Series B capital raise 

  • Compliance - including board reporting, manage and comply with local/state/federal government reporting requirements, overseeing audit process, and ASIC filings

  • Company secretary duties - including maintenance and management of company members, share certificates, ESOP

Qualification Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience 

  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience for a high growth business, major company or division of a large corporation  

  • Preference will be given to candidates with PA or CA (ANZ) designations
