Financial Accountant

Our client, an award-winning Financial Services company, has a reputation for delivering sophisticated products and services for their valued clients. They are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team on an initial 6 months contract, with the possibility of extension.  

The Role 

In this role you will be primarily responsible for the provision of high quality, informative, accurate, reliable and timely financial accounts and reporting, as well as supporting process improvement initiatives. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation of financial reporting, including managing month end and monthly management accounts, divisional reporting, product reporting, financial KPIs, dashboards
• Assisting with preparation of year-end Statutory Accounts in compliance with IFRS
• Co-ordinating the external audit process
• Statutory returns including BAS, annual FBT, Tax returns
• Cash and payroll reconciliations
• Liaising with the IT team to improve systems, increasing automation to drive efficiency and reduce manual reconciliations 
• Process mapping and documenting processes
• Working collaboratively with non-finance staff across the business

Essential skills and criteria

• CA or CPA qualified, ideally with a Big 4 accounting background and relevant industry experience - financial services experience highly regarded 
• You will be passionate about process improvement, embracing change and quick to pick up new systems
• Ability to build strong and lasting relationships across the business
• A strong work ethic and willing to 'roll up your sleeves'
• Deadline-focused and have a track record of delivery
• Strong written & verbal communication essential
• Ability to work as a team but also work autonomously
• Someone who thrives within a fun, fast paced & innovative culture
