Great opportunity exists for a temporary Financial Accountant for 3 months initially or even a possible option to become permanent.
Located beyond the Blue Mountains to a beautiful rural country town setting in Orange, a new furnished Corporate Head Office has been established with exciting growth plans within a leading / largest independant owned Australian agribusiness firm.
The Financial Accountant will be reporting to the Finance Director and working with a team of 8 Finance Staff.
The position is to manage three direct reports and to provide monthly and statutory reporting
Core Functions:
* Closing EOM in a timely and accurate manor
* Reviewing all monthly reconciliations
* Assisting in managing the annual audit process
* Approving accrual and other General Ledger Journals
* Preparing the BAS return and FBT return
* Signing off Payroll and PAYG tax
* Preparing tax calculations for inclusion in the income tax return
* Overseeing fixed asset register
* Reviewing payment runs for accuracy prior to their approval
* Raising and processing journals including monthly accruals
* Promoting adherence to financial control policies and procedures
* Individual Business Unit (P & L) and Consolidation Reporting
Demonstrative skill sets:
* High attention to detail
* Advanced Excel skills and exposure to Centralised Reporting
* Strong control and risk awareness
* The ability to meet deadlines and work as part of a team
The successful candidate must be CA/CPA qualified with demonstrable and relevant post qualification experience in financial accounting and the ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships is essential.
The position comes with a competitive hourly rate and is negotiable.
