This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior accountant assistant to join a progressive business. The Role

Working within our small tight knit accounting team at Head Office, this position will report to Senior Accountant and the CFO. Your role as Assistant Accountant will be broad and varied. What's great about this opportunity is that you will be reporting in to a talented and energetic CFO who enjoys training and mentoring her team. Once you master a task you will be given the chance to take on greater responsibility thus ensuring continuous learning. Some of the responsibilities will include:

• General daily accounting duties – accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Daily bank reconciliations
• Maintaining MYOB accounting system
• Month end and reporting
• Daily cash flow monitoring
• Working closely with the accounting team to provide support and cross coverage
• Ad hoc duties

Your Background:

To be considered for this Assistant Accountant opportunity you must meet the following criteria:

• Have working knowledge of MYOB or similar accounting system
• Confident with the basics of Accounting such as AP, AR, Bank reconciliations with the desire to develop and take on additional tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be proactive with a can-do attitude
• Attention to detail
• At least a basic understanding of computer based programs (Excel, Word); however we are willing to train the successful candidate in the Accounting and Property Management packages (MYOB and Property Tree)
• Be able to work autonomously as well as in a team

In this Assistant Accountant position your role will progress in line with your abilities and attitude. As the successful candidate you must be aware that you will be the most junior person within this team of three. This will mean a willingness to maintain your more junior tasks whilst simultaneously growing your remit.

The following skills and experience is preferred but not necessary:

• Experience in the property industry
• Chinese mandarin (working proficiency)
