About the Business

Our client is a large construction business located in Blacktown and they are seeking an experienced, full time, internal accountant to join their growing workforce.

You will be reporting to the Managing Director on all financial and management accounting matters of the business.

Job tasks and responsibilities

You will be involved with: 

• Preparation of month end financials, balance sheet reconciliations and management reports
• Preparation and on time lodgement of obligations and statutory returns including:
  • BAS/IAS
  • Payroll 
  • Payroll Tax
  • Superannuation
• Preparation of and analysis of budget to actual results
• Assisting the Director in the preparation of operational cash flows
• Update, reconciliation and maintenance of internal accounting system
• Management of AP & AR including invoicing, debt collection and the timely authorisation of payments
• Liaise with our external accountant to prepare statutory returns in a timely manner

Skills and experience

You will have: 

• Bachelor degree or above in accounting
• Professional membership would be an advantage
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of XERO accounting system and excel
• Excellent time management skills, prioritisation, multi-tasking and ability to work autonomously
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Be confident, eager to learn and work closely with management and office staff
