About Our Client
Our client is a leading global insurance company and is arguably a market leader in their sector; they seek a Head of Finance for their Australia & New Zealand branch. This is a collaborative organisation where staff at all levels work as part of a team.
About The Role
The Head of Finance has overall responsibility for financial accounting and reporting for the ANZ operations of this multinational insurance company. Reporting to the Regional Asia Pacific CFO and working closely with the CEO you will play a vital part in acting as a valued business partner to this organisation dealing with various senior leaders within the business.
Responsibilities
- Providing accurate and timely preparation of quarterly financial statements and regulatory reporting returns;
- Be a key member of the leadership team;
- Acting as a senior business partner across the company;
- Managing various tasks including but not limited to capital management, forecasting and conducting process improvement initiatives;
- Liaising with various stakeholders both in Australia and internationally;
- Direct line management of a team of 3 finance professionals.
Requirements
- 10 + years relevant experience in the general insurance industry;
- Strong APRA reporting experience (essential);
- Experience of US GAAP desirable;
- Ability to analyse transactions and provide input to senior leadership and the board;
- Degree qualified, majoring in accounting;
- CA or CPA qualified;
- Track record of leading finance teams within the insurance market;
- Strong leadership ability;
- Strong financial reporting and business partnering skills.
