John Holland, with joint venture partners CPB Contractors and Ghella (JHCPBG JV), have been awarded the contract to deliver the $2.81 billion second stage of Sydney Metro, City and Southwest, Australia’s largest public transport project.

With a new crossing under Sydney Harbour, the 15.5 km TBM tunnels will run from Chatswood, through the CBD and then to Marrickville. The project includes building complex underground structures for six new stations in Crows Nest, North Sydney, Barangaroo, Martin Place, Pitt St and Waterloo.

 

Opportunity available for an experienced Payroll Advisor to join the John Holland Sydney Metro team based in Sydney's CBD. You’ll be responsible for providing accurate, timely and efficient payroll services to John Holland workforce employees (including Management).

 



Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Accurate processing of monthly payroll using Chris 21
  • Maintain employee Masterfile records
  • Processing of new starters and transfers and checking colleague’s processing
  • Processing workers compensation and income protection payments to employees
  • Running of various reports for business units
  • Compile end to end testing of system upgrades and report issues
  • Answering payroll queries from employees, management and external agencies
  • Ensure all payroll information and documentation received is accurate and complete
  • Processing of termination pays including redundancies and ensuring legislative and regulatory rules are followed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information
  • Facilitate the electronic transfer of salaries to banking institutes
  • Assist and train team members where required

 

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Completion of Higher School Certificate or equivalent experience in administration
  • Certificate in Business or Financial Services
  • Chris 21 experience and basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employee contracts, policies and procedures, payroll legislations and processes, i.e. tax and superannuation
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in the construction industry
