About the role 

As an Accounts Payable Officer, this role is responsible for the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of transactional capture and recording associated with all third-party invoices (excluding intercompany transactions) for both the Moët Hennessy Australia (MHA) and Estates and Wines (E&W) businesses within the Moët Hennessy Australia Shared Service accounting function.

For this role, we are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our team to predominantly support the Estates & Wines portfolio – Domaine Chandon, Cape Mentelle & Cloudy Bay. We are looking for an individual who has great attention to detail, likes to work in a fast-paced environment & is passionate about building a career within Finance.

We are looking for an individual who can bring ideas to drive continuous improvement across the Accounts Payable function and broader expenditure cycle through improved systems utilisation. The successful candidate will be a key part of enhancing the internal control framework within the department and across the business.

Role responsibilities

This role is responsible for transactional components of the Finance department including processing of creditors invoices, reconciliation of credit ledger to general ledger, handling accounts payable enquires, statement reconciliation, preparation of EFT payments (including international) as well as assisting with the expense claim system – Concur.

The Accounts Payable Officer role is the Finance department expenditure cycle “functional expert” and is responsible for the key areas of the expenditure cycle process including supplier master file maintenance, purchase orders, maintaining expenditure limits and required invoice approvals, invoice approvals, account coding, payment processing, maintenance of the credit ledger ensuring payments, credit notes, processing of weekly expense claims and monthly reconciliation.

This role is also responsible for building relationships within the business for the Estate & Wines portfolio who are based in other states of Australia & in NZ in relation to responding to supplier & internal queries and coding as they arise. You will also review, streamline and document procedures on an ongoing basis.

Skills & experience required: 

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable Officer role
  • Good at learning news systems – SAP & Concur would be ideal but not essential.
  • Applies expertise and technology 
  • Advanced processing efficiency and accuracy skills with the ability to process required volume of invoices and manual payments
  • Listens, consults others and communicates proactively
  • Proactive & establishes good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • High attention to detail
  • Follows procedures and policies and complies with internal control obligations of the role
  • Time management and organisational skills
