About the business

Reputable contractor operating for over 10 years in NSW, recently expanded into Victoria and with a well established national client base, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join the Leadership Team. Reporting to the General Manager this Western Sydney based role presents an excellent opportunity to take charge of your career and align yourself with an ethical and expanding company.

This role would suit a confident Financial Accountant who is looking to step up to the next level but is not afraid to be hands-on in the role as the business grows.

About the role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and analysis of finance and management reports

  • General ledger maintenance

  • Cash flow management and banking administration

  • Accounts receivable and payable

  • Payroll

  • Tax compliance

  • Preparation of annual financial statements and external tax accountant liaison

  • Assist with the development of budgets, forecasts and financial modelling

  • Partner with business stakeholders to support financial needs

  • Inter-company accounts

  • Job analysis

Skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting (CPA/ CA an advantage)

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role (construction company preferred)

  • Strong technical accounting, tax and payroll compliance knowledge

  • Strong reconciliation skills

  • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

  • High-level organisational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines

  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.

  • Understanding and commitment to confidentiality

  • Analytical and commercial mindset

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management

  • Energy and drive with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability

  • Organised, flexible and resilient

  • Xero experience (preferred)
