About the role

Role

Reporting to our regional business partners, the Finance Director will drive and implement Palladium's regional finance strategy in Australia and Indonesia, with particular responsibility for driving the financial management of projects in the APAC region.   

The role will also provide strategic support to the Business Region Partners in the development of cost structures, forecasts and key financial performance indicators.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Brisbane based finance team in the delivery of financial management and stautory reporting activities;
  • Liaise effectively with project managers on our projects throughout the pacific in order to ensure we are receiving accurate and timely information at the project level;  
  • Track and report key financial performance metrics such as fee and reimbursable income, project income, business contribution and utilisation;
  • Day to day management of the individual members of the finance team who specialise in financial management, statutory accounting, payroll, accounts payable and treasury accounting;
  • Ensure accurate and timely month end close process for the region in coordination with the global finance team;
  • Provide commercial and pricing advice during the preparation of bids and tenders.

Skills and experience

  • Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or related field;
  • CA or CPA qualifications preferred;
  • Extensive prior experience within a project management company or the internal finance function of a professional service firm is essential;
  • Strong understanding of client billing in a project management or professional service context;
  • In-depth understanding of project accounting and linkages to project management;
  • Advanced ability in developing project financial models, budgeting and forecasting tools;
  • Strong people management experience;
  • Detailed understanding of financial risk assessment and monitoring;
  • Understanding of accounting and tax standards of Australia;
  • Proven ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial managers;
  • Working knowledge of Deltek CostPoint accounting and Enterprise Reporting (COGNOS) strongly preferred.
