CORE Community Services is a large not for profit organisation which supports all ages and needs within our communities. 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll expert to join CORE Community Services as a Payroll Officer based in South Western Sydney. The role will be providing end to end payroll services to 150 plus employees.

 

This position reports to the Finance Manager and is responsible for providing financial services. The principal role of this position is payroll and assisting with other accounting functions including payables, recievables and financial reporting. This role will also assist in transitioning the organisation to on an online payroll system and HRIS expected to be implemented in FY2018/19.

 

It is vital that this role is performed in an effective and efficient manner, that information processed is accurate and up to date, that staff are paid in a timely and appropriate manner and that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits. The duties must also be performed in accordance with legislative requirements and CORE Community Services approved policies and procedures.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

To be considered for this position, you must have proven experience in the following areas:-

 

  • Certificate or Diploma level in  Payroll, Accounting or Finance or other relevant qualification and experience

  • Demonstrated Accounts Payable, Payroll and General Ledger experience in a similar role

  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical literacy

  • Well developed customer service and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively as part of a team

  • Well developed computer skills, especially in relation to Microsoft Excel and a payroll system

  • Knowledge of relevant payroll and superannuation statutory requirements and legislation.

  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and good time management skills, whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

 

Desirable

  • Prior experience in Attache system.

  • Prior experience with online Payroll/  HRIS platforms.

  • Prior experience in the NFP/ community sector.

  • Prior knowledge of the SCHADS Award.
