The Brown Group is a dynamic group of Companies, owned and managed by a local Broome family.  Originating 30 years ago as a Civil earthmoving company: McCorry Brown Earthmoving, the family has expanded its footprint to include bulk Cement supply and distribution through the Pilbara, Kimberley and Northern Territory.

The Accounts Manager is an integral role within the Group, reporting directly to the Business and General Manager, they must have the following: 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Previous similar experience and a firm understanding of Accounts Management 
  • High Level of Accuracy in Preparing and Entering Financial Information
  • Ability to Maintain Confidentiality Concerning Financial Files
  • Excellent Analytical, Problem Solving and Time Management Skills
  • Strong attention to Detail, with the ability to see that Needle in the Haystack
  • Effective Written Communication and Organisational Skills
  • Highly Developed Computer Skills, including the Ability to Manage the Company Accounting Program (MYOB)
  • Ability to Work with Limited Supervision and be Self Motivated      

ROLE INCLUDES:

  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Receivable to ensure accurate allocation, management and payment within set time frames.
  • Perform weekly processing of Payroll for 4 entities, with the support of the Office Administrator
  • Complete monthly payment of Superannuation and Payroll Tax
  • Ensure all company BAS reporting data has been recorded in an accurate manner according to required deadlines, including fuel rebates, GST deferral on imports, PAYG withholding & PAYG instalment tax, for the company accountant.
  • Liaise with external Company Accountant as required, including preparation of end of financial year reporting and meeting all ATO requirements in an efficient and professional manner
  • Investigate & obtain finance for capital acquisitions
  • Manage Insurance Policies and annual renewal for the Group
  • Maintain company MYOB files, providing support to office staff in the correct use of accounting software
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, & work cooperatively to provide quality customer service
  • Other duties as delegated by Management
