The Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) is the Australian Rail Industry’s Standards Development Organisation (SDO). RISSB is primarily responsible for the development, amendment, management and ownership of the Australian Code of Practice (ACOP) as it relates to the Rail Industry, which incorporates codes, standards rules and guidelines. RISSB is also responsible for other documents, systems and processes necessary and desirable to promote railway industry standardisation, efficiency and safety in Australia.
RISSB’s objectives are detailed in its Constitution. It is a Company governed by Corporations Law and limited by guarantee. It is fully owned by its funding organisations who are its Members, and has been in operation since 2004.
The Accounts Assistant will provide book keeping and administrative support to the General Manager Business and Finance.
The major responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant are:
- basic bookkeeping (data entry).
- maintaining records of invoices
- processing accounts payable
- processing of corporate credit cards
- generating invoices across the events and training portfolio.
- Investigating and resolving accounts enquiries
- provide administrative support
- undertaking clerical tasks such as typing, filing, making phone calls
To be considered for this role, the candidate must demonstrate:
- Certificate III in Book keeping (or higher) and a minimum of five years experience
- Highly developed competency in and experience with MYOB AccountRight 18.2
- Experience in Calxa is desirable, but not essential
- Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to work to multiple competing deadlines
- A team player with a flexible, "can do" attitude who can be relied upon to assist your peers and collaborate
- Well-developed communication skills; written and telephone.
- Previous experience in data entry.
- Highly developed computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite and Sharepoint
The location for this role will be RISSB's Brisbane Office. The position will be a part time role (approx 25 hours per week) with flexible working days and hours, but may ramp up during busy periods.
