About the Position
The Accounts Officer supports the Finance Manager and Senior Accounts Officer, to provide continuous support and improvement in the Accounts & Finance function and has delegated responsibility for the following functions:
- Bookkeeping and Finance Support: assisting the Finance team to maintain an efficient, effective and compliant financial management system.
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable: maintaining efficient, accurate, effective and compliant accounts payable and accounts receivable systems and processes.
- Banking and Bank Reconciliations: maintaining an efficient, effective and compliant system and process.
- Assisting the Senior Accounts Officer in processing fortnightly payroll.
- General Administration to support the Finance team.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor qualifications in accounting, bookkeeping or similar discipline
- Completed or in the progress of completing professional programs which are recognised by Australian Accounting professional bodies
- Minimum 3 years previous experience in Bookkeeping, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Experience in maintaining integrity of financial records (transactions) and financial systems in accordance with pre-determined procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with external and internal stakeholders.
- Advanced level, computer skills in a Windows environment including accounting and payroll packages, word processing; intermediate to advance excel skill, databases, internet and email.
- Employ an ethical and professional approach to practice.
- Strong attention to detail.
