An opportunity now exists for an Payroll Assistant to join our Finance team located on the Northern Beaches.  The Payroll Assistant is responsible for assisting the payroll manager to process and monitor all salaries and wages and related disbursements.

Responsibilities:

Main Activities: Assist the Payroll Manager to:

  • Manage and pay fortnightly wages and salary for Ozsale Pty employees, includingbenefits, taxes, garnishments; deductions and issuance of paychecks;
  • Manage and pay monthly salaries for employeesof Mysale Group companies;
  • Liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries.
  • Prepare and correct record Mysale Group payrolls transactions in accounting system;
  • Prepare and reconciliation of monthly General Ledger wages journals;
  • Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and
    terminations is accurate and timely; award interpretation;
  • Ensure systems and payroll software are set-up and updated;
  • Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, holiday accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, superannuation, etc.)
  • Determines payroll liabilities, calculation and payment of employer taxes, worker compensation, superannuation contributions;
  • Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory and filing requirements;
  • Manage, recording and reimburse employees company expenses; recording company credit card expenses

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 3 year experience in the same field
  • Must have experience in using ADP Payroll software (Payforce for Australia and New Zealand)
  • Knowledge in relevant payroll legislation
  • Knowledge of Navision or other ERP system
  • Ability to maintain high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning personal and financial records
  • Attention to details and high level of accuracy
  • Time management skills - able to prioritize tasks, meeting deadlines and processing high volume of transactions, with sense of urgency
  • Effective communication skills - both when handling queries with employees over the phone and via written correspondence
  • Dedicated team player
  • Sound computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other)
  • A highly motivated individual with the ability to work without direct supervision, and analyse and problem solve in a fast paced work environment
  • Sound communication skills, with experience dealing with both internal and external customers
  • Very high level of attention to detail
  • High level of organisational and planning skills
  • A sense of urgency and the ability to translate this into effective organisational practices and time management including prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines
