Our Local Government client has an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join an already highly performing finance team in Central West NSW. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this interesting role is focused on overseeing our clients financial systems, leading and developing a finance team and the provision of effective and efficient accounting support to the finance division.

About the role. Functions of the role include but are not limited to;

  • Coordinate and oversee accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Inventory and Plant.
  • Lead and develop a finance team of 4.
  • Weekly and monthly reconciliation of various accounts, investments and other ledgers.
  • Performing expenditure reviews and acting as co-signatory for cheque and electronic transfers.
  • Maintenance of general ledgers.
  • Producing monthly and quarterly budget reporting.
  • Preparation of Annual Fringe Benefits tax returns and assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and other statutory reports.

Essential criteria;

  • Tertiary qualifications in either Business or Accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience in the functions listed above
  • Proven ability to lead a team and ensure day to day, monthly and annual requirements of the finance area are met.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • A high level of competence in reporting
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
