Top Knot Carpentry & Joinery are looking for a friendly and experienced Payroll Support Officer to join our team based in Banksmeadow, Sydney.

With offices in NSW, QLD and VIC, our company continues to grow from strength to strength. The position comes with great growth opportunities and we are looking for someone focused with great attention to detail to jump on board.

This is an exciting role for someone with hands-on payroll experience to support our Payroll and Finance teams with employee payments for the multiple business units within our Company.

About the role

This role is ideal for someone who is ready to hit the ground running in their position. The role requires routine, dedication with great focus and precision. If you have a background in bookkeeping along with hands-on payroll experience, we want to hear from you!

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Payroll administration – new starters, changes and terminations
  • Coordination of time-sheet system, collation/ approval process and payment
  • Preparing payroll reports (earning summaries, taxes, deductions, leave, etc)
  • Assist with general employee enquiries and requests
  • Resolve payroll payment discrepancies by collecting and analysing information
  • Assist with superannuation, pension funds, awards and other payroll reconciliations
  • Execute payroll operations by following policies and procedures and assisting to improve processes to increase efficiency
  • Assist Contract Admin and Finance teams with related job costing and project administration
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other related results as needed

Skills and experience

  • Minimum 3-years payroll hands-on experience
  • Previous experience within a similar role is highly regarded
  • MYOB payroll and payables hands-on experience is essential
  • A background in bookkeeping is highly regarded
  • Exposure and ability to read and understand employment and enterprise agreements and statutory legislation
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Relevant industry qualification highly regarded
  • Ability to manage, organise and prioritise workloads on strict deadlines
  • Focus on accuracy, attention to detail and time management
  • Honesty, dedication, maintaining employee confidence and protection of payroll operations and data at all times
