The Cairns Chamber of Commerce is an established Not for Profit association that represents businesses in the Cairns Region. We are a highly successful organisation with a solid reputation, and are currently seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join our team. This exciting opportunity is a casual based role, 16hrs per week over two consecutive days.
Responsibilities
• Payroll
• Accounts Payable
• Accounts Receivable
• Daily and monthly reconciliations of accounts and monitoring of transactions
• Statutory obligations
• Assist the Accountant as required, and in the preparation of timely and accurate month end reconciliations and other reporting
• Provide assistance to the Chief Executive Officer, Accountant and staff with general financial enquiries
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement in financial management and administration
Selection Criteria
Essential:
• 5 years’ experience in a similar role and responsibilities
• Xero experience
• Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, with an ability to self-start and work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and time management and prioritisation skills
• Demonstrated ability to effectively administer and adhere to finance management systems and processes
Desirable:
• Understanding of the accounting and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including prepaid assets and liabilities
• Experience in preparing financial reports for senior management
