Our client is an importer and supplier of quality Tile, Timber and Laminate flooring products to the domestic building industry with clients situated primarily in Melbourne and Regional Victoria. 

With an office and warehouse facility located in Melbourne’s West and a staff of around 70, they are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Accounts Supervisor. Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, key duties of this role include:

  • Undertaking various statutory reporting and compliance duties including BAS returns
  • Processing of monthly standard journals and prepayment
  • Supervising and providing backup support to Accounts Payable and Receivable staff
  • Performing Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with the monthly preparation of Financial Statements and cash flows
  • Fixed Asset Register Maintenance
  • Lease schedule register maintenance
  • Preparing daily bank reconciliations
  • Manage month end process to ensure compliance with deadlines
  • Cash flow analysis and forecasting and budgeting 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A qualification relevant to the role such as a Diploma Accounting, Business or similar or striving toward completion of a degree
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in leading a small team and responsibility for accounts payable and receivable is advantageous.
  • Experience in or exposure to the building sector, manufacturing or warehousing or a related industry
  • The ability to effectively meet deadlines whilst managing workloads
  • Excellent commnunication skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft suite of products and in particular Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a positive, friendly attitude
  • Be driven, proactive, flexible and a team player
  • Experience working with an ERP system advantageous
  • An understanding of payroll principals would be advantageous
