About the business and the role

Hunter Trade College is a new approach to vocational education in NSW.  The College is an accredited senior school for delivery of the NSW Higher School Certificate and is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

The College offers students the ooportunity to study for their HSC while commencing their trade based studies.  Students can study Electro-technology, Construction, Automotive, Engineering Metals or Engineering Fabrication.

The College is seeking an experienced Accounts and Payroll Officer to join our growing team.  The position will be required to undertake a range of activities including accounts payable/receivable, BAS, monthly accounts, purchasing and payroll.  The position is offered at 30.4 hours per week and will be required to work Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and other day/s as determined with the successful candidate.  

Essential Criteria:

  • Certificate III in Business, Finance, Commerce or Accounting, or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated effective experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in spreadsheet, word processing, internet browsing, MS Outlook and accounts/payroll software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to form good working relationships with various stakeholders
  • Exemplary work ethic and a positive friendly, can-do attitude
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Working With Children Check

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in Reckon Accounting Software
  • Experience using Payroll Premier
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Previous experience in a school/education environment.
