About the role

Due to an exciting period of growth in our business we have a new opportunity for a Management Accountant to join the finance team in Burwood. The purpose of the role of is to support the Divisional Finance Manager with:

• Ensuring monthly reporting complies with Ventia policies and accounting standards
• Planning and analysis of divisional performance and business partnering with divisional management team
• Supporting the divisional finance managers and project financial resources, to secure accurate and timely recording and reporting of project performance
• Focus on continued process improvement and driving system efficiencies
• Work together with key functions and people: work winning, commercial, HR, project managers, lines of business

Key areas of responsibility include:

Monthly Reporting

• Ensure divisional month end tasks are completed to quality standards in accordance with the timetable
• Consolidation of monthly management reporting and forecasting for P&L, BS and Cashflow and balance sheets reconciliations
• Compilation of the monthly PowerPoint board pack to the divisional management team

Project Reporting & Support

• Audit, risk management, tax planning and project accounting for the New Caledonia mine contract
• Project accounting, invoicing, reconciliation and forecasting for contracts
• Correct Project Financial Management (PFM) reporting, assuring project performance is transparent
• Support the projects to improve performance in systems and processes
• Project KPI’s to be clearly defined, understood and reported
• Support Work Winning and Commercial in preparation and winning of new work

About you

To be successful in this role you will be CA or CPA qualified, with approximately 5 years post qualification experience. 

You will be able to demonstrate previous finance experience within a large complex organisation, preferably within our industry, clear and concise written communication as well as exposure to senior management in your previous roles. 

Strong technical project accounting knowledge and previous experience of JDE/TM1 is highly desirable. 

This role will see you needing to proactively engage with management and other key stakeholders to build trust and be a business partner on all aspects of their operations. You will be able to show strong ownership and accountability with excellent organisational skills, demonstrating the ability to work on multiple matters concurrently, under pressure and meet deadlines.

The ability to communicate and influence at all levels both internally and externally as well as ability to explain complex matters in a simple way, are both key to this role.
