As Systems Accountant you will be responsible for overseeing the chart of accounts, the end of month processes along with ensuring that when business units are added they are done accurately and efficiently.

Our client are re-known throughout Perth within the Education sector and are located in Perth's northern suburbs. They pride themselves on diversity in the workplace along with a friendly and social environment. This role will work alongside the IT and systems team whilst working alongside the finance team which consists of 12 members of staff.
Description
Responsibilities include:
Manage the structure of the Chart of Accounts. The successful candidate must have the ability to restructure the chart of accounts when the business structure changes, for example when a new division is opened.
A deep understanding of how system processes can be affected when changes occur and how to amend these changes.
Ensure month-end is being completed in a timely manner, the ability to drill down through the system if there is a variance in the month-end process and know how to resolve that issue, from both an accounting standpoint and within the actual system.
Extra data from the system to create management packs and present to the Manager of Finance. This will require the use of COGNOS.
Ability to provide technical commentary on variances etc.
Profile
The successful candidate will have the following:
- CA / CPA / CIMA qualified
- Experience working as a Systems Accountant previously
- Strong understanding of Oracle will be desirable
- Accounting background
