Your new role
As an Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for journal entries, preparing profit and loss statements, high volume reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger and fixed asset register. Furthermore, you will assist in preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month end closing. Reporting and working closely with the CFO, you will also be preparing and lodging processing FBT returns as well as BAS. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to; full function payroll, accounts payable, statutory liability and ad-hoc accounting tasks as required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Accounting Degree or relevant industry qualifications
- Must have previous experience with MYOB
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively partner with internal and external stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of internal controls and business processes related to accounting functions.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong technical accounting Acumen
