Senior Tax Advisor - Exciting Commercial Organisation
Our client is a large corporate with operations across Australia. Due to some changes in the team, we have an opportunity for a Corporate Tax Senior Advisor to join the Group Tax function in a broad, technical tax role with both compliance and advisory responsibilities. This is a dynamic organisation that can offer flexible working where necessary.
Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager, the key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Assist in coordinating the preparation of income tax returns, BAS, FBT returns
- Preparing half-year and year-end tax effect accounting calculations
- Coordinating and liaising internal and external partners to gather required compliance information
- Provision of technical tax support to Finance staff
- Preparation of tax forecasting and PAYG
- Assisting in the matters relating to indirect tax, R&D and Transfer Pricing
- Providing tax advice and tax training in relation to tax issues, obligations and information requirements
- Assist the Senior Tax Manager and General Manager, Taxation in providing advice to management on the tax implications of proposed major business transactions and tax opportunities
- Conduct procedural reviews and updates to management
- Assisting with strategic tax planning and project management for the tax team
- Identify improvements to be made from a systems and technical viewpoint
The successful candidates will display the following skills, attributes and qualifications:
- Circe 3-5+ years' experience in a Corporate tax role whether that be Big 4, top-10 mid-tier accounting firm or commercial experience;
- Will have a relevant undergraduate degree and a post graduate qualification such as; CA/CPA/Masters of Tax or equivalent;
- Will be prepared to work in a dynamic and fluid work environment;
- Will have proficient Microsoft Excel skills and experience with tax systems is desirable;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must!
