The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, this newly created role as Head of Finance will be critical in helping our team reach the growth targets we have set for the next 3-5 years and is based in Parramatta Sydney, NSW. We are expanding both domestically and internationally, with a range of new market opportunities being explored. You will be responsible for overseeing the accounts functions, corporate and business contracts management and providing in depth financial reporting. You will ensure the efficient and effective operation of the organisation, including information and finance systems as well as ensuring the organisation meets all contractual obligations and maximizes the benefits of those contracts.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Provides accounts support to the CEO on a range of business matters and initiatives as required
  • Coordinates finance and information functions such as accounts systems, program analysis, budgeting trend analysis and other related functions
  • Assists with monthly processes such as preparation of sales and expenses summary reports, MBE and performance against KPIs and business goals
  • Oversees year-end processes such as annual payroll tax and payment summary reconciliations and end of year reconciliations
  • Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
  • Provides executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
  • Responsible for ensuring ARC is receiving competitive pricing for the goods and services we purchase
  • Manages large purchases for ARC, including related issues
  • Assist with business model development for key new business processes
  • Prepares relevant management reports, including weekly, quarterly, year-end and ad hoc reports as required
  • Leads, manages and motivates accounts team members to achieve KPI’s      
  • Provides ongoing coaching and supportive feedback to executive team regarding financial and contractual matters
  • Maintains the strictest confidentiality at all times on matters pertaining to the organisation and its employees 
  • Works collaboratively across all teams

Skills and Experience:

You will hold relevant Accounting/Financial qualifications and be able to demonstrate extensive experience working in a medium to large organisation with a broad exposure across managing the finance division of a company with a number of businesses, revenue streams, legislative and compliance bodies. Your proven track record of transformation and implementing best practice will see you stand out in a crowd! Naturally, you will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.

  • 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership role 
  • Clear oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to  multi-task 
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills, including business performance and trend analysis
  • Contracts management knowledge and experience
  • Meticulous attention to detail and good work ethic
  • An understanding of accounting principles and expert knowledge of Xero
  • Strong numerical aptitude and Microsoft Excel skills 
  • Accounting/Financial qualification or relevant demonstrated experience in a similar role
